This year I have been experimenting more with Black and White images in a Woodland scene. This was inspired from a talk to BWPS by Robert Harvey (Natural World Photography ). Further examples can be seen on my Woodland Page.

Pile of LogsOlympus E-M10 Mk 3 F: f/5.4 | Exp: 1/160 second | ISO: 100 | F/ L: 45mm | Handheld(17 April 2021) This “Pile of Logs” can be found between Upper Barn Copse and Colden Common and is a route I have often taken towards Brambridge and down the River Itchen with my Camera. Again applied a Black and White Treatment to highlight the logs from the surroundings.
2 Doors in WinchesterOlympus E-M10 Mk 3 F: f/5.6 | Exp: 1/800 second | ISO: 3200 | F/ L: 31mm | Handheld(2 May 2021) These are 2 doors near the Cathedral in Winchester . The aim of this photoshoot was to find some interesting, yet unusual architecture around the Cathedral area that would not be an obvious photo opportunity. I have applied a Black and White Treatment in Photoshop.

Climping GroinsOlympus E-M10 Mk 3 F: f/22 | Exp: 60 seconds | ISO: 200 | F/ L: 14mm | Tripod(20 August 2020) Climping is in West Sussex. This image came whilst I was waiting for the Sun to go down and the prediction of “Clear sky’s” so I could experiment with Astro Photography. The Clouds came and this was the only image taken. Photoshop was used to provide the Black and White image. My favourite part is the leading limes of the Groins and the Rock

WSR Steam Train – On our JourneyOlympus E-M10 Mk 3 F: f/22 | Exp: 1/125 second | ISO: 200 | F/ L: 16mm | Handheld(24 June 2019) The West Somerset Steam Railway is worth a visit. In this image the camera Image Stabilisation paid a big part. With the f-stop set low to capture the depth of field and the focus point close to the camera. I converted this image to Sepia in Photoshop to give a vintage look. I have also taken a few images from the fields around Blue Anchor of the Steam Trains passing.
Porlock Beach in Black and WhiteOlympus E-M10 Mk 3 F: f/11| Exp: 1/160 second | ISO: 200 | F/ L: 25mm Prime | Tripod(21 June 2019) Porlock Beach, Somerset is an interesting Village, well worth a Visit, providing you can navigate the small country roads! In the village there are various photo opportunities. The small Harbour and a set of Cottages . That is apart from the Pub.

Kenya transportOlympus E- 620F: f/22| Exp: 1/200 second | ISO: 100 | F/ L: 150mm | Monopole(15 March 2010) This image was taken with my 50-500 Telephoto, sitting on Nyali Beach, Mombassa. Bright Day. The Black and White was an accident that worked well. I forgot to change the settings in the camera.

Engine Parts Book and Ghost PartOlympus E- 500F: f/9 | Exp: 10 seconds | ISO: 100 | F/ L: 24mm Prime | Tripod(25 March 2008) This was part of long exposure work done at College from my BTech in Photography. The “Ghost” part was achieved by removing the item 1/2 way through the exposure.
